Acceptable Use Policy

Acceptable Use Policy Version 1.0 · Effective July 26, 2026 JamCrew holds real information about real working people: phone numbers, addresses, pay rates, bank details, identity documents, travel documents, and where somebody stood when they checked in for a call. This policy is the short list of things you agree not to do with that, and with the platform itself. It applies to everyone: workspace owners, admins, crew members, clients invited into a portal, and anything that talks to us through an API key or an integration. It is part of the Terms of Service (/terms), so breaking it is a breach of that agreement. To report abuse, write to legal@jamcrew.io (mailto:legal@jamcrew.io) with as much detail as you can give us. If you think someone is in danger, call your local emergency number first. 1 · Follow the law - Do not use JamCrew for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that breaks labor, employment, wage and hour, immigration, tax, or data protection law where you operate. - Do not use the platform to arrange work that is illegal: unpaid work that must be paid, work by people under the legal working age for the job, work outside the terms of someone's work authorization, or work that violates a wage order or collective agreement that binds you. - Do not use JamCrew to discriminate against crew on a basis protected by law, or to retaliate against someone for asserting a legal right. - Do not use the platform in violation of United States export control or sanctions law, or provide access to a sanctioned party. 2 · Treat crew like people - No harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or sexual advances toward crew or anyone else, through messages, broadcasts, gig notes, ratings, or any other part of the platform. - No hate speech, slurs, or content that demeans a person or group based on a protected characteristic. - Do not use ratings, notes, or documents to spread false claims about a person. - Do not publish or share a crew member's personal information outside the people who need it for the work. That includes home address, identity documents, immigration status, health information, and pay details. - Location features exist to confirm somebody arrived at a call. Do not use check-in location, availability, or schedule data to track a person outside their working time or to monitor their movements generally. - Do not use the platform to coerce someone into accepting a gig, waiving pay, or agreeing to conditions they have refused. 3 · Crew contact data is for the work - Use crew contact details to staff, schedule, pay, and support the work. Nothing else. - Do not sell, rent, license, or trade a roster, a contact list, or any personal data you obtained through JamCrew. - Do not export crew data to build a mailing list, a recruiting database, or an advertising audience. - Do not send marketing, political, or promotional messages to crew through the platform's messaging, email, or SMS features. Work communication about gigs is fine. Advertising is not. - Get consent before you turn on SMS or email notifications for someone, honor an opt-out immediately, and never re-add a person who has opted out. - Do not pass crew personal data to a third party outside your workspace unless you have a lawful basis and, where required, their consent. 4 · Respect workspace boundaries - Do not attempt to access a workspace, account, subdomain, or record you were not given access to, whatever the method: guessing subdomains, replaying invitation links, manipulating identifiers, or exploiting a bug. - Do not circumvent, disable, or test the platform's access controls, permissions, roles, or tenant isolation. - Do not share your credentials, session, or API key, and do not use someone else's. - Do not use an admin account to read a crew member's private messages or personal records for a purpose unrelated to running the work. - If you find a security flaw, do not exploit it and do not go looking through other people's data. Report it to legal@jamcrew.io (mailto:legal@jamcrew.io) and give us a reasonable chance to fix it. We will not pursue a good-faith report made this way. 5 · Do not attack the platform - No malware, ransomware, worms, or any code intended to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access. - No denial of service, flooding, load testing, or penetration testing without our prior written permission. - No evading rate limits, quotas, plan limits, or usage measurement. - No reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the platform, except to the extent a law you are subject to says you may. - No consuming resources in a way that degrades the service for other workspaces, including bulk storage unrelated to your work. 6 · No scraping and no automated extraction - Do not scrape, crawl, spider, or use a headless browser, script, or bot to extract data from JamCrew without our written permission. - Use the API only where your plan includes it, with your own credentials, and within the documented limits. - Do not aggregate, resell, or redistribute data obtained from the platform, including market rate information and industry comparisons. - Do not use the platform, or data from it, to build or train a competing product or service. 7 · Content rules - Upload only content you have the right to upload. That includes photographs, documents, contracts, certifications, and identity or travel documents belonging to other people. - No content that infringes copyright, trademark, trade secret, or privacy rights. - No sexual content involving minors, no content that sexualizes a crew member, and no sexually explicit material in a workspace that other people can see. - No content that promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, or illegal goods. - Do not upload a person's sensitive information into a free-text field where it does not belong. Use the fields built for it. 8 · Keep the platform honest - Do not impersonate another person, company, or workspace, or misrepresent your affiliation with one. - Do not create a workspace mainly to reserve a subdomain, and do not register a subdomain that trades on someone else's trademark or brand. - Do not create accounts to evade a suspension, a plan limit, or a trial limit. - Do not resell, sublicense, or provide access to the platform as a service to a third party unless your agreement with us says you may. - Do not falsify timesheets, check-ins, invoices, tax documents, or payment records generated through the platform. 9 · How we enforce this We would rather talk to you than switch you off. When we can, we will describe the problem and give you a reasonable chance to fix it before we take further action. - Depending on what happened, we may remove or restrict content, limit a feature, throttle usage, disconnect an integration, suspend an account or a workspace, or terminate access. - For illegal content, threats to someone's safety, a security attack, or severe abuse, we may act immediately and without notice. - We may preserve or disclose information where we believe the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate a violation or protect someone from harm. - Suspension or termination under this policy does not entitle you to a refund. The refund rule in Section 9 of the Terms of Service (/terms) applies. - If you think we got it wrong, email hello@jamcrew.io (mailto:hello@jamcrew.io) and ask for a review. A person will read it. 10 · Changes to this policy We may update this policy as the platform grows or as new kinds of abuse appear. Every version carries a version number and an effective date at the top of this page.
